William Holton •Spirals and Vortecies, Feb 15 - March 17, 2013

Janet Kurnatowski is pleased to present Spirals and Vortecies, William Holton's second solo exhibition with the gallery. The show runs from February 15 - March 17th, 2013. Please join the artist for an opening reception on Friday, February 15th from 7-9pm.
Holton combines indeterminate and dynamic modes of artistic production with discernible human intention by using compressed air to create and manipulate the cylindrical flow of paint. By yielding control to his materials, configurations of spiraling waves are produced that displace, and superimpose each other, creating interference patterns that seemingly materialize unseen fields of cosmic energy, imbuing Holton's work with a timeless beauty and a pulsating power.
William Holton received his MFA from University of Pennsylvania in 2003. He received several awards including a Fellowship Award from Vermont Studio Center, a Merit Award from Hunter Museum of Art, Chattanooga, TN and a Regional Visual Arts Fellowship, Southern Arts Federation/NEA. He has shown nationally and in New York, he is represented by Janet Kurnatowski Gallery. For more information or images please contact the gallery.
